There are 2 versions of this hack available: One that uses snd_stream (custom music), and one that doesn't. Using the snd_stream patch is highly recommended, unless your emulator/hardware cannot handle it. We put a LOT of effort into this hack's soundtrack.

After a long time in the business a notorious crimminal group has finally decided to do their most ambitious job yet. However, once their biggest heist is foiled by a sudden ambush by a group of explorers, their bond of trust and brotherhood gets thrown into question as the suspicion of a traitor having infiltrated their ranks begin to arise.

The longing for treasure is a feeling that some Pokémon are never able to shake. While some search their local mystery dungeons for the spoils, or create exploration or rescue teams to acquire wealth, there is one location famed for it's riches... if you can find them. The Sand Continent. Many legends have been told about the treasure that lay buried in the sands, just waiting for the right explorer to come find them.

And for the boldest of explorers, there is Wahatan Town. A run-down settlement in the middle of the unforgiving desert of the Sand Continent. Once an established mining town, and one of the oldest settlements on the continent, it has been largely left to decay as it's inhabitants have gradually fled to the much more renowned Sahara Town.

The sandstorms of Wahatan Town make it a brutal location for any Pokémon who does not take the proper precautions to survive. But for all the challenges, is the treasure around the town worth the hardships? Only time will tell...

Follow a familiar face from Lonely Roads as they search for an ancient treasure in the Sand Continent. A treasure lost to the sands of time is the goal, and this face never fails at their goals.

A story hack that completely overhauls the post-game Darkrai arc.

It's been some time since Mitchell & Sparky of Team Fire Spark stopped the planet's paralysis and life is slowly getting back to normal. But, all is still not well in the world. Spacial distortions are beginning to appear. Is Mitchell's presence as a human who should no longer exist the cause? Will he have to leave everything behind once more to save the world? Or is something more sinister lurking in the background?

For Team Fire Spark, they are about to face their greatest challenge yet...

(This hack also serves as the final adventure for the PMD Retold machinima series, however this hack has also been designed to be played standalone of any knowledge of continuity.)

Explorers of Maelstrom is a hack of sky that seeks to make the game faster and more dynamic in terms of combat and character progression. Most animations have had their speed increased, text speed has been massively increased, now neigh instant, and every dungeon up until the end of postgame contains a secondary "Mid-Boss" floor specially curated to challenge the player and add more depth to the dungeons.

Marowak Dojo has been reworked to act as a progression hub for the player. Here, you can grind for experience fighting members of the Blissey line in the training maze, Hoard wealth in the Poke maze, Forage for apples in the aptly named Apple maze, and test your luck against the games hardest bosses in the Challenge Maze. I'm definitely missing one but you get the idea.

In addition, Luminous Spring is available from the start of the game and can be accessed once Mt.bristle is unlocked.

The hack, as of version 1.0, contains 8 starters, each possessing a unique set of base stats and stat growths complemented by an extensive list of moves (for the most part lol). Play as Wimpod, Cutiefly, Golett, Litwick, Crabrawler, Pawniard, Duraludon, and Dhelmise.


This is the first version of the hack. Therefore, it's not as fleshed out as I envision it to be, but I intend to get it there in due time with a constant stream of updates. Stay tuned.

This mod aims to enhance the experience of speedrunning or racing PMD: Explorers of Sky in various ways. It can also be used for randomizer runs, etc.

Features include removed cutscenes, synchronized RNG for racing and a HUD display to show supplementary information, such as a live in-game timer.

Pokéwanderer is a "gameplay overhaul" hack based on various entries in Chunsoft's "Mystery Dungeon" franchise. The primary inspirations behind the changes are Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon(2015) and Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer(1995), though it also borrows ideas from various other titles. While the hack does get much more difficult than the base game, it's not exactly a "kaizo" hack either, just a different design approach.

Primary features:
-Major starter re-balancing
-Recruitment is disabled except for certain exceptions
-Every enemy plays a distinct role in Dungeons, and every encounter holds a lot more weight
-Regen speed is much higher, and enemy spawnrates are slightly slower.
-Items are much more important, playing an equal role to moves. The proper use and management of items is crucial to your survival.
-All items and money are lost on death, and most Dungeons quick save at the start as an anti-cheat measure.
-All cutscenes are skippable by holding B + Start

Hey, my name is Gala and I wanted to share a hack I created! This hack has been in the works since October of 2023, and is a very big feat of mine. The game’s plot itself is relatively the same, but bits of everything else have been altered in minor or major ways. Think of this as a QOL with random altered story elements. There’s a lot of stuff to cover, so I did my best to lay it all out below! If you don’t feel like reading a wall of text, that’s okay! Download it for yourself and enjoy!

- All the starters have been almost entirely replaced, and many of them have new typings and/or move pools. I recommend checking them all out to find which team comp works best for you!

- I've also provided the necessary applications to apply this patch, all you've gotta do is provide your own untampered ROM of Explorers of Sky. 

I used assets provided by many people through places such as the PMD Sprite Repository, so check it out to give the artists some love!

- As a reminder, this hack alters aspects of the game’s story. Some characters look different with new names or are different in their entirety. The entire game’s script has edited dialogue to remedy poor translations and poorly conveyed emotions. The portraits of characters are more expressive where possible, as well. However, that is the extent of my meddling. This isn’t EoS rebuilt from the ground up, it’s more so a modified experience that allows me to learn the ropes of making an EoS ROM Hack.

- I've added many new moves to the game to go along with Fairy Type as well as the newer gen Pokémon added to the hack. As well as this, Protean replaces Color Change, Moxie replaces Pure Power, and Contrary replaces an unused ability slot.

- Added Moves: Echoed Voice, Disarming Voice, Plasma Fist, Infernal Parade, Bitter Malice, Gigaton Hammer, Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Play Rough, Accelerock, First Impression

- I have added new Pokémon to every main story dungeon. They now include all mainline starters from Gen 5-9, as well as the overhauled starter list. Some bosses have been altered as well, as well as potentially adding new boss fights that weren’t there before. Every dungeon will include level-scaling, where evolutions of mons within the base spawn pool will appear after certain points of the story. Best stay on your toes when returning to past dungeons!

The Fourth Part is finally here! Lonely Roads is official one year old! This has been an incredible journey so far and I've gotten so much enjoyment out of watching people react to the story and keeping up with all happenings about the project. I have worked very hard on this part, and hope that everyone enjoys! This part continues the story for another few hours. Also, my other hack, Outlaw's Paradise, takes place in the same universe and follows one of the other characters in Lonely Roads. One day in the human world, you meet a Pokémon washed ashore on a beach. After taking it in, you learn it can talk, talking Pokémon don’t exist, but this one clearly does. Fast forward a year, and you’re sailing into the unknown, when a storm shipwrecks you into the world of Pokémon.

This is a 5-part hack with a new story taking place on a new island (not the grass continent). Be prepared to deal with a talking protagonist and your partner, along with gameplay slightly more challenging than vanilla EOS and all new dungeons.

CREATOR'S NOTE: I just really don't like looking at it lol. This was my first hack, and although it wasn't terrible, I'd rather just not look back at it anymore.

This is a short hack done for the SkyTemple Jam in May 2021. Despite constraints within our team, I was able to cobble together something from our planning, thus we present this brief little story sequence with a 9-floor dungeon. This is the opening to a tale of a group of dungeoneers, heading on their way for a visit to the doctor for Alger, the player character.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: The Bright Future is a 12-chapter story hack set in the Explorers of Sky world. Inspired by the storytelling and style of its predecessor, it’s a new narrative that follows a more classic PMD plot formula.

Many years after the events of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, a new adventure begins in the bright future.

When you wake up in the body of a Pokémon, you know something is terribly wrong…because this happened before. This is not your first time visiting the world of Pokémon. You have no memory of what you did on your last adventure, but you’re certain that you succeeded, and this world has already been saved. With your role complete, why are you back? Your return must be some kind of mistake.

With the help of your well-meaning but impulsive partner—a Rockruff who was just kicked off their former exploration team—you join the Wigglytuff’s Guild of the future and re-explore the world, trying to uncover the mystery of your return and unmask a malicious familiar force that threatens the wellbeing of the Pokémon you once saved.

Yes! It's a completely original story with over 70 new cutscenes spread out across 12 chapters.

Is this the same player and partner as EoS?
The player/human and partner of this hack are separate from the EoS duo, as this takes place in the far future. At the moment, the player is always Scorbunny and the partner is always Rockruff. Note: it is highly recommended for story purposes that you give your partner a nickname rather than species name!

What's the setting?
The world of Explorers of Sky, many years after the events that took place in the first game. The world and characters in this story didn't exist until the timeline was changed by the original player and partner in EoS. So while not a direct sequel, this takes place in the bright future the events of the first game have led to.

What's the tone of the story?
A classic PMD “romp and whomp” story about friendship and empathy. All-ages appropriate.

How long is this?
12 chapters, 9 new dungeons, 10 new bosses

Can you Dynamax/Gigatamax?
While the concept of Dynamax and implications of it in a Pokemon society are important to the narrative, the gameplay is otherwise the same as EoS and does not include the ability to Dynamax at the moment.

There are two custom music tracks—one for the final boss battle and one for the post-final battle cutscene—and three custom art pieces.

Is this finished?
Yes! Note: this build is a story mode as there is no overworld, so the gameplay flow goes from cutscenes to dungeons and player level remains at 20 throughout.

Is the Croagunk in the future guild a descendant of the original Croagunk? Or an unrelated Croagunk? Or Croagunk himself after he found the elixir of immortality?

Explorers of Memories is a romhack where the protagonist never lost their memories, and this effects the story in many ways causing events to never happen or making events happen earlier than they should.However, this is not a retelling of the original story, instead it is a brand-new story with elements of the original.

PMD: Gates to Infinity Demake is an EoS romhack that aims to recreate Gates to Infinity! Made in celebration of GTI's 10th anniversary, this demake aims to improves the many issues GTI had. These improvements include: Faster Text Speed, new starters, reworked dungeons, and much more!

Please keep in mind that GTI Demake is a work in progress and that there are many placeholders.

The basics of the hack is difficulty and modified story and characters while following a similar structure, while boasting a unique starter selection. Progress is only at chapter 10, however the rest of the game is perfectly playable.

This is a story of a human turned Pokémon found on the beach by a team. While that team is out of town helping him get back to his world, the human stays back in town and another Pokémon begins to see the human as someone they can bond with.

Demo is roughly 15 minutes with no dungeons. Final version will have some dungeons. The story and events in this demo will likely change over the course of development.

After a long hiatus, as of September 2023, Distant Connection is now back in development with a fully revamped and redone script, and the demo is now vastly different from what the final product will be, though will keep it up until this hack is released.

How a Treecko in Silent Forest became Grovyle and how it came to be that he worked together with a human to change the fate of this dark world. The hack is playable in English and German.

In A Starless Night, you follow Nova the Starly as he recollects the events leading up to his incarceration, as well as Nova and his guardian's daily struggle to put food on the table. This hack contains two dungeons, one of which is a puzzle dungeon composed entirely of fixed rooms.

Nova first appeared in Broken Chaos, the third installment of the MysteryMail series, though under the moniker of Fugitive Birb. Though he was originally written as a one-off character I created solely because I was interested in what others would do with him, I soon fell in love with the character. Additionally, Hack Jam 5 just so happened to be starting soon after the end of MysteryMail. Thus, the idea for A Starless Night was born.

Explorers of the Azure Sky is an enhancement hack of Explorers of Sky inspired by ones of the main series like Drayano's Renegade Platinum, featuring:

- A new take on the story of Explorers of Sky, staying faithful to the original while also featuring a far more active player role, as well as an attempt at interconnecting the PMD world.
- Most Pokémon have had their movesets, typings, abilities, and even IQ groups changed. A full list of the changes made to every Pokémon can be found in the zip file.
- Eevee has replaced Phanpy as a male player option, and Growlithe has replaced it as a partner. Sorry Phanpy fans!
- A Friend Bow is given to you at the beginning of the game with the other two items you get, in order to help recruitment!
- Liked the L + A/B/X/Y move system from later games? Don't want unnecessary tutorials shoved in your face? Want to have a partner of the same type as you? You can, with the patches made by End45!
- Want to control your teammates in the middle of battle? Now you can by pressing Select, with the Complete Team Control patch by Cipnit!
- The Fairy type has been added, along with Fairy gummies, thanks to Irdkwia! The gummies have been added to the dungeon and Kecleon Shop item pools, as well as job rewards.
- As such, the Fairy type has been given to Pokémon from Generation 6 onwards that have become Fairy type, as well as to plenty of new Pokémon that didn't have it before!
- Fairy type moves have been added as well, with custom animations. These include Moonblast, Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam, and more!
- The experience share system from Gates to Infinity and later, once again thanks to Irdkwia!
- New Pokémon, including Alolan Vulpix and Ninetales, Sylveon, the Snivy line, and the Flababe line. These are all I can add for now, given the limitations in adding Pokémon, but more are planned!
- Most of these new Pokémon have been added to dungeon encounter tables. If you're looking to recruit them, they can be found in various dungeons both in the main story and postgame. Keep an eye out!

This is my first solo hack. I've done a small bit of work on Explorers of Pain, but this is the first time I've released something of my own.
It is not recommended to play this hack on DS hardware at the moment, as there will be a moment in which save states are highly recommended.

Though this hack is complete enough in which it can be considered finished, there are a few things I may add/change in a future update, including:

• Dungeon balance changes or slight story modifications based on feedback (your feedback is highly valuable!)
• Addition of save points
• Returning the player to the menu after the credits, rather than locking them on a blank screen (this will only be considered if/when I add save points)

A complete ROM hack with an original story! It was mostly made to try out SkyTemple, so it's very short (~5 minutes).

Treasure Town seems like a nice place, doesn't it? But, there is always a seedy underbelly in such a prosperous location; seeing as an influx of new pokemon unseen to the region is steadily trickling in, some might take advantage of the confusion. How could they possibly?

Well, a certain few start spreading the word of their prophet... a prophet that will save them all from an impending destruction unlike even the time crisis they had faced before. It would just require a few sacrifices... yes... just a few. Heheh...

You are a typical Mystery Dungeon player.
You began your game, answered the quiz questions, and you got your result.
But you didn't get what you wanted, so you reset your game.

But something's changed.

You'll play as Myra, the Vulpix you lied on your quiz to play as.

The only one you can call an ally in this world is Shadow the Shinx, who spares your life and tells you to run away to anywhere else.

This one-shot story sees Team Fire Spark continue their adventures with their new recruit Manaphy. But what seems like a routine mission quickly turns into the beginning of a mystery as they find four Pokémon who never should have existed.

Roughly 1 hour of content. Biggest issue is the textbox (you'll know when you see it), however that is easily fixed by exiting the game and returning to a save.
